Mr. David Cullen is Group General Counsel of the Company. David joined AMP in September 2004 and was appointed Group General Counsel in May 2018. David has groupwide responsibility for AMPs legal and governance functions. David has almost 25 years experience in the legal profession, with extensive experience in the areas of MA, corporate law and corporate governance, having worked in law firms in Perth and Sydney and with the ASX. Prior to his appointment as Group General Counsel, David was the Group Company Secretary and General Counsel, Governance at AMP, which included acting as Company Secretary for AMP Limited. David also worked fulltime on AMPs merger with AXA APH. David holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws from the University of WA and a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney. He is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia. since 2019.

Elected by the shareholders, the AMP's board of directors comprises two types of representatives: AMP inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of AMP. The board's role is to monitor AMP's management team and ensure that shareholders' interests are well served.
