Mr. Francois Antoine Eugene Muths Cardenas serves as Vice President of Operations of Compania de Minas Buenaventura SAA. He was appointed to this post on February 2 2007. Prior to that he acted as Member of the Board of Directors and General Manager of Inversiones Mineras del Sur SA from 2005 till 2006. In addition he held the position of General Manager from 1985 to 2005 and Superintendent of Uchucchacua Mine from 1981 to 1983. He has worked at the Company for 33 years holding various posts such as Director and General Manager at Inversiones Mineras del Sur SA a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company. He obtained a BS degree in Mining Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria and a Masters degree in Mining from the Colorado School of Mines. In 2005 he completed the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School. since 2007.

Compania De Minas Leadership Team
Elected by the shareholders, the Compania's board of directors comprises two types of representatives: Compania inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of Compania.
