Mr. Richards previously served as our Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer until his retirement in December 2018. Mr. Richards was named President and Chief Executive Officer in October 2011 and Chairman in January 2013. From 2009 to October 2011, Mr. Richards served as our President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining CDW, Mr. Richards held leadership positions with Qwest Communications International Inc., a broadband Internetbased communications company. From 2008 to 2009, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and from 2005 to 2008 as Executive Vice President of the Business Markets Group. Mr. Richards also has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Clear Communications Corporation and as Executive Vice President of Ameritech Corporationrationration. since 2019.
