Drive Shack Management Efficiency
The company has Return on Asset (ROA) of (0.0261) % which means that for every 100 dollars spent on asset, it generated a loss of $0.0261. This is way below average. Likewise, it shows a return on total equity (ROE) of (3.242) %, which implies that it produced no returns to current stockholders. Drive Shack's management efficiency ratios could be used to measure how well Drive Shack manages its routine affairs as well as how well it operates its assets and liabilities. The company reports 60.25 M of total liabilities. Drive Shack has a current ratio of 0.62, implying that it has not enough working capital to pay out debt commitments in time. Debt can assist Drive Shack until it has trouble settling it off, either with new capital or with free cash flow. So, Drive Shack's shareholders could walk away with nothing if the company can't fulfill its legal obligations to repay debt. However, a more frequent occurrence is when companies like Drive Shack sell additional shares at bargain prices, diluting existing shareholders. Debt, in this case, can be an excellent and much better tool for Drive to invest in growth at high rates of return. When we think about Drive Shack's use of debt, we should always consider it together with cash and equity.

Pair Trading with Drive Shack
One of the main advantages of trading using pair correlations is that every trade hedges away some risk. The ability to find closely correlated positions to Drive Shack could be a great tool in your tax-loss harvesting strategies, allowing investors a quick way to find a similar-enough asset to replace Drive Shack when you sell it. If you don't do this, your portfolio allocation will be skewed against your target asset allocation. So, investors can't just sell and buy back Drive Shack - that would be a violation of the tax code under the "wash sale" rule, and this is why you need to find a similar enough asset and use the proceeds from selling Drive Shack to buy it.
The correlation of Drive Shack is a statistical measure of how it moves in relation to other instruments. This measure is expressed in what is known as the correlation coefficient, which ranges between -1 and +1. A perfect positive correlation (i.e., a correlation coefficient of +1) implies that as Drive Shack moves, either up or down, the other security will move in the same direction. Alternatively, perfect negative correlation means that if Drive Shack moves in either direction, the perfectly negatively correlated security will move in the opposite direction. If the correlation is 0, the equities are not correlated; they are entirely random. A correlation greater than 0.8 is generally described as strong, whereas a correlation less than 0.5 is generally considered weak.
