Mr. Jackson K. Mutua has served as Managing DirectorChief Executive Officer, Executive Director of East Africa Plc since June 1, 2011. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Nairobi and an MBA from the same university. He is a qualified Accountant and Company Secretary and is a Member of both ICPA and ICPS. He has over 18 years of professional experience having previously worked with BestFoods Kenya Ltd and Karirana Estates Ltd . He joined the Company in July 2007 as Head of Finance. While serving as the Finance and Administration Manager of Karirana Estates Ltd, he successfully led a value addition project that resulted to the creation and marketing of the Eden Tea brand. Jacksons other achievements include, his leadership of the companys business diversification program leading to the formation and implementation of farm management services to ensure a sustainable source for raw materials for the companys core business. He also assumed leadership of the development of the companys five year strategic plan and further oversaw the development and implementation of the companys Business Continuity Plan, apart from assuming initial leadership of the Company spinoff project whose objective was to secure the future of the Company by offering equity ownership of the manufacturing company to suppliers. Jacksons 14 year career includes roles at Best Foods Kenya Ltd where he was recruited to serve in the roles of Financial and Management accountants where he handled financial reporting, pricing and product margin determination and analysis of business performance. He also worked for Transami Kenya Ltd, a leading global logistics Company, at the beginning of his career. He is Member of the Finance Risk Committee, Member of the Audit Committee, and Member of the Remuneration Nomination Committee of the Company. since 2011.
