In January 2007, his responsibilities were expanded to include Global Programs. Between January 2011 and November 2013, Bakaj served as Vice President, Powertrain Engineering, responsible for overseeing all engine and transmission engineering worldwide. He was appointed as Vice President Product Development for Ford of Europe in November 2013 and a Member of the Board of Directors of Ford Otosan in September 2017. since 2017.
