Prior to joining Fletcher Building he spent eight years at the New Zealand law firm Bell Gully where he had a broad commercial law practice in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and managed funds. Before that, Charles spent three years working as a lawyer at the New Zealand Stock Exchange. Charles holds a Bachelor of Laws from Victoria University of Wellington, and in 2009 completed the Senior Executive Programme at Columbia University in New York. since 2013.
