FS Investment Management Efficiency
The company has return on total asset (ROA) of 4.49 % which means that it generated a profit of $4.49 on every $100 spent on assets. This is normal as compared to the sector avarege. Similarly, it shows a return on stockholder's equity (ROE) of 3.7 %, meaning that it created $3.7 on every $100 dollars invested by stockholders. FS Investment's management efficiency ratios could be used to measure how well FS Investment manages its routine affairs as well as how well it operates its assets and liabilities. The company currently holds 1.63 B in liabilities with Debt to Equity (D/E) ratio of 76.2, indicating the company may have difficulties to generate enough cash to satisfy its financial obligations. FS Investment has a current ratio of 2.08, suggesting that it is liquid enough and is able to pay its financial obligations when due. Debt can assist FS Investment until it has trouble settling it off, either with new capital or with free cash flow. So, FS Investment's shareholders could walk away with nothing if the company can't fulfill its legal obligations to repay debt. However, a more frequent occurrence is when companies like FS Investment sell additional shares at bargain prices, diluting existing shareholders. Debt, in this case, can be an excellent and much better tool for FSIC to invest in growth at high rates of return. When we think about FS Investment's use of debt, we should always consider it together with cash and equity.
