Mario Polegato - Geox SpA Chairman

Mr. Mario Moretti Polegato serves as the Chairman of the Board and an Executive Director of Geox S.p.A. He is the Founder of the Company. He also serves as Chairman of the Executive and Member of the Ethics and Sustainable Development Committees of the Company. In 2003 he also received an honorary Doctorate degree from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of the BanatuluiTimisoara University and was also appointed Probiviro of Confindustria for a fouryear term. In 2003 he has also been a Board Member of Siparex Italia. In 2004 he founded the ONLUS Il Ponte del Sorriso. He received the 2004 Marketing Award from the Italian Marketing Association, and the Fidelity to Work Award from the Consorzio dei Santi Crispino e Crispiniano. In 2005 he was appointed as a Cavaliere del Lavoro and a Director of UPA. He received an ad honorem degree in Chemistry and Environmental Compatibility from the University of Ca Foscari. In 2006 he was appointed as Affiliate Professor of Entrepreneurship by ESCPEAP European School of Management Italia, GrandUfficiale al Merito della Repubblica Italiana and he received a ad honorem Master by the CUOA Foundation of corporate management of Vicenza. In 2007 he received the award Premio Leone del Veneto from the Ufficio di Presidenza del Consiglio Regionale del Veneto and he was elected member of the Managing Committee of Comitato Leonardo Italian Quality Committee. In 2008 he gained the International Career Award from the European Academy for Economic and Cultural Relations and was appointed as Member of the Executive Council of Confindustria. In 2009 he was appointed as part of the International Advisory Council of the Universita Bocconi. In February 2010 CNBC and Financial Times conferred him the title of Innovator of the Year during the CNBC European Business Leaders Awards. He completed his studies as an Enologist and graduated in Law.
