Mr. Akira Nozaki serves as a Commissioner of PT Vale Indonesia Tbk since September 30, 2015. He served as a Commissioner from September 24, 2013 until September 25, 2014. He is currently the Director, Executive Officer and General Manager of NonFerrous Metals Division of Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd., a position that he has held since June 2015. In this role, he is responsible for strategy and operation and business development of the Division. He has held various operations and project management positions in the field of copper, nickel and catalyst in Sumitomo, and served as a General Manager of Nickel Sales and Raw Materials Department succeeded by Deputy General Manager of Administration Department of Sierra Gorda Project Division and General Manager of Corporationrationrate Planning Department prior to assuming his current position. Mr Nozaki has a BA from Waseda University, and joined Sumitomo in 1984. In 2016, he participated in competence enhancement trainings. since 2015.

Elected by the shareholders, the Vale Indonesia's board of directors comprises two types of representatives: Vale Indonesia inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of Vale.
