Dr. Rui Yong Ph.D. serves as Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer of the company, overseeing Lenovos corporate technical strategy, research and development directions, and Lenovos corporate Research and Technology organization, which covers intelligent devices, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, cloud computing, 5G and smart lifestylerelated technologies. Before joining the Group, Dr. Rui had an 18year career with Microsoft holding various senior roles in RD including Deputy Managing Director of Microsoft Research Asia, GM of Microsoft AsiaPacific RD China Innovation Group, and other leadership positions ranging from strategy, basic research, to technology incubation and product development. Dr. Rui is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, International Association of Pattern Recognition and International Society for Optics and Photonics, and a Distinguished Scientist of Association of Computing Machinery . He holds 60 issued US and international patents, and is a recipient of the prestigious 2016 IEEE Computer Society Technical Achievement Award since 2016.
