Mr. Thomas Jefferson Wu is NonExecutive Independent Director of Melco Crown Entertainment Ltd., since December 18, 2006. He is also the chairman of our compensation committee, and a member of our audit committee and nominating and corporate governance committee. Mr. Wu was the managing director of Hopewell Holdings Limited, a business conglomerate listed on the Stock Exchange, since October 2009. He has served in various roles with the Hopewell Holdings group since 1999, including group controller from March 2000 to June 2001, executive director since June 2001, chief operating officer from January 2002 to August 2002, deputy managing director from August 2003 to June 2007 and comanaging director from July 2007 to September 2009. He has served as the managing director of Hopewell Highway Infrastructure Limited since July 2003. Mr. Wu graduated with high honors from Princeton University in 1994 with a bachelor of science degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. He then worked in Japan as an engineer for Mitsubishi Electric Corporation for three years before returning to fulltime studies at Stanford University, where he obtained a master of business administration degree in 1999. Mr. Wu is active in public service in both Hong Kong and Mainland China. He serves in a number of advisory roles at different levels of government. In Mainland China, he is a member of the Heilongjiang Provincial Committee of the 11th Chinese Peoples Political Consultative Conference, a Standing Committee member and a member of the Huadu District Committee of The Chinese Peoples Political Consultative Conference, among other public service capacities. since 2006.
