Mr. Steven L. Watson was appointed as Chairman of the Board of NL Industries Inc. with effect from February 20 2014. Mr. Watson has served as our chairman of the board since 2014 and on our board of directors since 2000. He previously served as our vice chairman of the board and chief executive officer from 2013 to 2014. He has served as Kronos Worldwide chairman of the board since 2014 and as its vice chairman of the board and chief executive officer from prior to 2010 to 2014. Mr. Watson has served as CompX chairman of the board since 2013 and a director of CompX since prior to 2010. Additionally he has served as chairman of the board of Valhi since 2014 and as its president and chief executive officer since prior to 2010. He was vice chairman of the board of Contran since 2013 and its president and a director of Contran since prior to 2010. Mr. Watson has served as an executive officer or director of various companies related to Contran and Valhi since 1980 since 2014.
