She completed two terms as the first Chairman of the Health Promotion Board of the Ministry of Health. She is also a Founding Trustee of the Alzheimers Disease Foundation of Malaysia as well as a Trustee of MERCY Malaysia, the Tun Abdul Razak Foundation, the National Council of Womens Organisations, the Womens Aid Organisation and the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas. She is also the Patron of Cancerlink, the Arthritis Foundation of Malaysia, the National Stroke Association of Malaysia, Wanita Pertubuhan Kebajikan Islam Malaysia Wilayah Persekutuan and the Mental Health Association of Malaysia. Toh Puan also presently sits on the Board of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. She is also a Trustee of the Media Prima Humanitarian Fund. Toh Puan qualified as a medical doctor from the University of London in 1969 and is an active social worker. since 2013.
