He was elected Senator of the Italian Republic in 1994. He serves as Member of the Board of Directors of Iride SpA CIR SpA Cofide SpA Banca Popolare di Milano and the Rodolfo Debenedetti Foundation. He has also been President of the China Milan Equity Exchange since May 2007. He graduated in ElectroTechnical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino in 1956 and completed a specialization in Nuclear Engineering in 1957. since 2006.
