Michael Gomez - Emerging Markets Fund Manager

Mr. Gomez is a managing director in the Newport Beach office, a portfolio manager and head of the emerging markets portfolio management team. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2003, he was responsible for market making and proprietary trading of emerging market bonds at Goldman Sachs. Prior to that, he spent a year in Colombia serving as a financial consultant to the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit. In addition, Mr. Gomez has served on numerous other committees providing advisory assistance to emerging market countries or a market practitioners perspective to index providers. He has 22 years of investment experience and holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he also received his undergraduate degree.

Emerging Markets Bond Management Team
Elected by the shareholders, the Emerging Markets' board of directors comprises two types of representatives: Emerging Markets inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of Emerging. The board's role is to monitor Emerging Markets' management team and ensure that shareholders' interests are well served. Emerging Markets' inside directors are responsible for reviewing and approving budgets prepared by upper management to implement core corporate initiatives and projects. On the other hand, Emerging Markets' outside directors are responsible for providing unbiased perspectives on the board's policies.
