Dr. Christopher G. J. Richards, Ph.D. was appointed as Executive Chairman of the Board, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Plant Health Care Plc, effective 30 November 2016. He joined the Group as nonexecutive Chairman on 1 August 2012, has a wealth of experience in the agriculture industry. A UK citizen, he spent 20 years at Syngenta and its predecessor companies, in roles spanning strategic product management and front line management in South America, Europe and Asia. In 2003, he was appointed CEO of Arysta LifeScience and led its transformation into a global agrochemical company with sales above 1.6 billion. He was NonExecutive Chairman of Arysta from 2010 until February 2015. His current portfolio includes board positions with Dechra plc, an international specialist veterinary pharmaceuticals business, and Cibus Global, a precision gene editing company focused on nontransgenic breeding and nontransgenic crop development he is also Chairman of Oxitec Ltd., a pioneer in controlling insects that spread disease and damage crops. To take a more active role in developing strategy and investor relations, He will become Executive Chairman on 1 April 2015.

Richards joined Arysta LifeScience as Chief Operating Officer in 2003 and was Chief Executive Officer from 2004 to 2010. Under his leadership, Arysta LifeScience became one of the fastestgrowing companies in the agrochemical industry. Arysta LifeScience was acquired by Permira Funds in 2008.Dr. Richards previously worked in international management roles at Syngenta Crop Protection and its predecessor companies, Zeneca and ICI. He began his career at the UK Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, having been awarded a doctorate in animal ecology from St. John?s College, Oxford.
