Mr. J. Michael Talbert is Independent NonExecutive Chairman of the Board, Lead Director of Transocean Ltd. Mr. Talbert also served as Chief Executive Officer from August 1994 until October 2002, Chairman of the Board of Directors from August 1994 until December 1999, and as President from December 1999 until December 2001. Prior to assuming his duties with the company, Mr. Talbert was President and Chief Executive Officer of Lone Star Gas Company, a natural gas distribution company and a division of Ensearch Corporationrationration. He is currently a director of El Paso Corporationrationration . Within the past ten years, Mr. Talbert was also a director and the chairman of TODCO
Talbert received his BS degree in chemical engineering in 1970 from the University of Akron and his MBA in 1975 from Loyola of the South.
