Mr. Eberhard W. Scherkus is Independent Chairman of the Board of Stornoway Diamond Corporationrationration., effective September 11, 2012. Mr. Scherkus presently serves as a director of several publiclytraded companies and he is the former President, Chief Operating Officer and director of AgnicoEagle Mines Limited. Prior to his appointment as President and Chief Operating Officer in December 2005, Mr. Scherkus served as Executive VicePresident and Chief Operating Officer from 1998 to 2005, as VicePresident, Operations from 1996 to 1998, as a manager of Agnico Eagle LaRonde Division from 1986 to 1996 and as a project manager from 1985 to 1986. Mr. Scherkus is a graduate of McGill University, a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario and past president of the Qubec Mining Association. By virtue of his education and career experience, Mr. Scherkus understands the accounting principles used by the Company to prepare its financial statements, and has the ability to assess the general application of such accounting principles in connection with the accounting for estimates, accruals and provisions. Mr. Scherkus has an understanding of internal controls and procedures for financial reporting. since 2012.
