Mr. Harry T. Lester is an Independent Director of TowneBank. Mr. Lester served as President of Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, Virginia, from 2005 until April 2013. Previously, Mr. Lester was a member of the EVMS Board of Visitors for five years and served a portion of that time as Rector of the EVMS Board. During his tenure as President of EVMS, Mr. Lester was a catalyst for positive change throughout the school, including implementation of a series of strategic initiatives, forging stronger relationships with other educational institutions and with EVMS teaching hospitals, and securing additional funding to accommodate the growth of the school. Previously, he served as an officer in the U.S. Navy and had a successful career in commercial real estate of over 30 years. An active community leader, he serves on numerous boards, including serving 16 years as a regional director for TowneBank since 2010.
