Lord Michael Jay of Ewelme has served as an Independent Director of Valeo SA since May 21, 2007, and is also a Member of the Companys Nominating, Remuneration and Governance Committee. He is an Independent Member of the House of Lords and is also a Non Executive Director of Associated British Foods and Candover Investments Plc, Trustee, Thomson Reuters Founders Share Company, Vice Chairman of Business for New Europe and a Director of EDF. Lord Jay was also Chairman of the House of Lords Appointments Commission, Chairman of the international medical charity Merlin, Member of the European SubCommittee on European Union law and Institutions and the House of Lords select committee on international institutions as well as GLOBE, an interparliamentary group on climate change. He is also a Member of the British Library Advisory Council. Between 2002 and 2006, he held the position of Permanent UnderSecretary at the United Kingdom Foreign Office and in this role was Head of the Diplomatic Service. In 2005 and 2006, he served as the United Kingdom Prime Minister personal representative at the G8 summits at Gleneagles and St. Petersburg. Lord Jay of Ewelme is an Honorary Fellow of Magdalen College in Oxford. He graduated from University of Oxford and University of London. since 2007.
