He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering with Honours from the University of Manchester and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Applied Sciences from the University of Sussex. He is a Chartered Engineer and is a Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical engineers and was awarded the Order of the British Empire in June 2009 for his services to the British oil and gas industry in Nigeria.
