Mr. John Perlowski is President, Chief Executive Officer, Trustee of the company. Mr. Perlowskis experience as Managing Director of BlackRock, Inc. since 2009, as the Head of BlackRock Global Fund Administration since 2009, and as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Funds since 2011 provides him with a strong understanding of the Funds, their operations, and the business and regulatory issues facing the Funds. Mr. Perlowskis prior position as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Global Product Group at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and his former service as Treasurer and Senior Vice President of the Goldman Sachs Mutual Funds and as Director of the Goldman Sachs Offshore Funds provides the Boards with the benefit of his experience with the management practices of other financial companies. Blackrock Debt Strategies Leadership Team
Elected by the shareholders, the Blackrock Debt's board of directors comprises two types of representatives: Blackrock Debt inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of Blackrock. The board's role is to monitor Blackrock Debt's management team and ensure that shareholders' interests are well served. Blackrock Debt's inside directors are responsible for reviewing and approving budgets prepared by upper management to implement core corporate initiatives and projects. On the other hand, Blackrock Debt's outside directors are responsible for providing unbiased perspectives on the board's policies.
