Mr. Jonathan A. Graf is no longer a Treasurer, Secretary of the Company effective June 30, 2017. He is currently serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Secretary, Treasurer of American Campus Communities, Inc., effective March 31, 2017. His responsibilities include our corporate finance, accounting, financial reporting, tax, capital markets, risk management, and human resources functions. Mr. Graf joined the company in 2004 shortly after its initial public offering, bringing more than 10 years of public company accounting, compliance and regulatory experience. Prior to joining us, he served as Vice President and Controller at Southern Union Company. From 1988 until 1994, he was an audit manager and information systems auditor at Ernst Young LLP

American Campus Comm Leadership Team
Elected by the shareholders, the American Campus' board of directors comprises two types of representatives: American Campus inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of American. The board's role is to monitor American Campus' management team and ensure that shareholders' interests are well served. American Campus' inside directors are responsible for reviewing and approving budgets prepared by upper management to implement core corporate initiatives and projects. On the other hand, American Campus' outside directors are responsible for providing unbiased perspectives on the board's policies.
