In the same way, it shows a return on shareholders' equity (ROE) of 0.1546 %, implying that it generated $0.1546 on every 100 dollars invested. Air Products' management efficiency ratios could be used to measure how well Air Products manages its routine affairs as well as how well it operates its assets and liabilities. The current year's Return On Capital Employed is expected to grow to 0.12, whereas Return On Tangible Assets are forecasted to decline to 0.06. At present, Air Products' Non Current Assets Total are projected to increase significantly based on the last few years of reporting. The company has 10.94 B in debt with debt to equity (D/E) ratio of 0.61, which is OK given its current industry classification. Air Products has a current ratio of 1.77, which is typical for the industry and considered as normal. Debt can assist Air Products until it has trouble settling it off, either with new capital or with free cash flow. So, Air Products' shareholders could walk away with nothing if the company can't fulfill its legal obligations to repay debt. However, a more frequent occurrence is when companies like Air Products sell additional shares at bargain prices, diluting existing shareholders. Debt, in this case, can be an excellent and much better tool for Air to invest in growth at high rates of return. When we think about Air Products' use of debt, we should always consider it together with cash and equity.

The ability to find closely correlated positions to Air Products could be a great tool in your tax-loss harvesting strategies, allowing investors a quick way to find a similar-enough asset to replace Air Products when you sell it. If you don't do this, your portfolio allocation will be skewed against your target asset allocation. This measure is expressed in what is known as the correlation coefficient, which ranges between -1 and +1. A perfect positive correlation (i.e., a correlation coefficient of +1) implies that as Air Products moves, either up or down, the other security will move in the same direction. Alternatively, perfect negative correlation means that if Air Products moves in either direction, the perfectly negatively correlated security will move in the opposite direction. If the correlation is 0, the equities are not correlated; they are entirely random. A correlation greater than 0.8 is generally described as strong, whereas a correlation less than 0.5 is generally considered weak.
