He obtained a Bachelor degree in Mining Studies from Western Australia School of Mines, Curtin University, in 1980 and an Associate Diploma in Mining and Mineral Technology from Western Australia School of Mines in 1983. He has built 34 years experience in mining industry both in Australia and Indonesia, thus sharpening his capability in developing new mining projects, exploration and operation. His career in Indonesia began in 1994 when he was a Mine Manager of PT Pama for Indo Muro gold mine and Operations Manager of PT MacMahon Contractors Indonesia. In 2002, he set up Asia Energy Indonesia and completed production process at four coal mining projects. since 2011.
