Mr. Edward J. Fritsch is no longer Chief Executive Officer, Director of the Company., effective September 1, 2019. Mr. Fritsch became our chief executive officer and chair of the investment committee of our board of directors in July 2004. Mr. Fritsch was our president from December 2003 to November 2018, our chief operating officer from January 1998 to July 2004 and was a vice president and secretary from June 1994 to January 1998. Mr. Fritsch joined our predecessor in 1982 and was a partner of that entity at the time of our initial public offering in June 1994. Mr. Fritsch is a director, chair of the governance committee and member of the audit committee of National Retail Properties, Inc., a publiclytraded REIT . Mr. Fritsch is a past chair of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts . Mr. Fritsch is also a member of Wells Fargo central region advisory board, a member of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Foundation board, a director of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Real Estate Holdings and a member of the Dix Park Conservancy board. since 2019.
