Mr. Bandel L. Carano is an Independent Director of Kratos Defense Security Solutions, Inc. Mr. Carano originally served as a director from August 1998 to June 2001 and rejoined our Board in October 2001. Mr. Carano joined Oak Investment Partners, a multistage VC firm, in 1985 and became a General Partner in 1987. Mr. Carano investment focus is on disruptive technologies. In addition to Kratos, Mr. Carano is currently on the boards of directors of NeoPhotonics Corporationrationration and numerous private companies. He also currently serves on the Investment Advisory Board of the Stanford Engineering Venture Fund. Prior to Oak Investment Partners, Mr. Carano joined Morgan Stanley VC Group in 1983. He was responsible for advising Morgan Stanley on hightech new business development, as well as sponsoring venture investments. Mr. Carano received bachelor and master degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.Mr. Carano technical engineering background and experience with several companies in the defense technology industry is particularly relevant to his understanding of our current service and product offerings and overall longterm strategy of future offerings. He also has significant expertise in evaluating various merger and acquisition targets for synergistic technical platforms. Mr. Carano holds a Top Secret National Security Clearance.
