Mr. Freese was a trade union secretary for almost 30 years successively holding the positions of Youth Labor Law and Works Council Secretary as well as Deputy School District and State District Manager. Mr. Freese trained as a fitter at the Schlaegel and Eisen colliery and worked several years in the mine. Currently Mr. Freese was Deputy Chairman of the German Mine Chemical and Power Workers Union since March 2004 a union of which he was a member for some 40 years. He is also Member of the Supervisory Board of Vattenfall Europe Mining AG Vattenfall Europe Generation AG 50Hertz Transmission GmbH amongst other positions. since 2007.
