He was also a founder partner of Tricorn Partners, Head of Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch Europe and a Director of Morgan Grenfell. He was Nonexecutive Director of Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust PLC, Director of a number of private companies, Steward of the Jockey Club, Deputy Chairman of The Panel on Takeovers and Mergers . since 2017.
