From October 2000 to March 2011, Mr. Castillo Snchez Mejorada was the Chairman of the board of directors and Chief Executive Officer of Ixe Grupo Financiero, S.A.B. de C.V., a Mexican financial holding company that merged into GFNorte as of April 2011. In addition, from March 2007 to March 2009, Mr. Castillo Snchez Mejorada was the President of the Mexican Banking Association . He holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Universidad Anahuac, in Mexico City, Mexico. since 2010.

Southern Copper Leadership Team
Elected by the shareholders, the Southern Copper's board of directors comprises two types of representatives: Southern Copper inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of Southern. The board's role is to monitor Southern Copper's management team and ensure that shareholders' interests are well served.
