Mr. Wong Meng Meng is NonIndependent and NonExecutive Director of the Company. He was appointed to the Board on March 14, 2000 and last reelected as Director on April 26, 2012. Mr Wong is the chairman of the Nominating Committee. He is also a director of Far Eastern Bank, a UOB subsidiary. He is the Chairman of Mapletree Industrial Trust Management. A lawyer by profession, Mr Wong was among the pioneer batch of Senior Counsel appointed in January 1997. While in active practice, he was widely acknowledged as one of the worlds leading lawyers in premier directories including The International Whos Who of Commercial Litigators, The Guide to the Worlds Leading Experts in Commercial Arbitration, Asialaw Leading Lawyers, PLC Crossborder Dispute Resolution Arbitration Handbook, The International Whos Who of Construction Lawyers and Best Lawyers International Singapore. Retired from WongPartnership LLP, Mr Wong remains as its FounderConsultant. He is a member of the Public Guardian Board, and had previously served as the President of The Law Society of Singapore, the Vice President of the Singapore Academy of Law and member of the Military Court of Appeal and the Advisory Committee of Singapore International Arbitration Centre. In recognition of his contributions to public service in Singapore, he was awarded the Public Service Medal in 2001. Mr Wong holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Singapore and was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 1972. since 2000.

United Overseas Bank Leadership Team
Elected by the shareholders, the United Overseas' board of directors comprises two types of representatives: United Overseas inside directors who are chosen from within the company, and outside directors, selected externally and held independent of United. The board's role is to monitor United Overseas' management team and ensure that shareholders' interests are well served. United Overseas' inside directors are responsible for reviewing and approving budgets prepared by upper management to implement core corporate initiatives and projects.
