General Richard B. Myers serves as an Independent Director of United Technologies Corporationration GENERAL MYERS, a retired U.S. Air Force General, served as Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff from 2001 to 2005. He was the principal military adviser to the President, the Secretary of Defense, and the National Security Council. He was appointed Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff by President Clinton, a role that included acting as Chairman of the Joint Requirements Oversight Council, Vice Chairman of the Defense Acquisition Board, and member of the National Security Council Deputies Committee and the Nuclear Weapons Council. General Myers is a director of Aon Corporationrationration, Northrop Grumman and Rivada Networks . He is the Foundation Professor of Military History and Leadership at Kansas State University and holds the Colin Powell Chair for National Security Leadership, Ethics and Character at the National Defense University. General Myers is also a member of the Defense Health Board, a member of the Board of Directors of the Kansas State University Foundation, and a board member at several other nonprofit organizations, including Fisher House and MRIGlobal. since 2006.
