Mr. James A. Bowen is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of First Trust Strategic High Income Fund II. He is Chief Executive Officer of First Trust Advisors and First Trust Portfolios L.P. and, until January 23, 2012, also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the First Trust Funds. Mr. Bowen is involved in the daytoday management of the First Trust Funds and serves on the Executive Committee. He has over 28 years of experience in the investment company business in sales, sales management and executive management. Mr. Bowen has served as a Trustee of each Fund since its inception and of the First Trust Funds since 1999.
