MV Per Share

Revenue Per Share

Price to Sales ratio is typically used for valuing equity relative to its own past performance as well as to performance of other companies or market indexes. In most cases, the lower the ratio, the better it is for investors. However, it is advisable for investors to exercise caution when looking at price-to-sales ratios across different industries.

Price To Sales In A Nutshell

Price to sales is also known as the P/S ratio. Typically the numbers that are used are trailing twelve months or TTM. There are many different valuation methodologies out there. Similar to target pricing, you can find and interpret numbers in many different ways. Certainly many numbers are hard facts, but others not so much. Price to sales ratio is used with evaluating potential stock investments. It is calculated by taking the market cap of the company and dividing it by the revenue.
