Dr. Luis M. Chavez serves as Vice President Mexico of the company. Luis Chavez was most recently Senior Vice President, Mexico with AuRico Gold. Luis has considerable experience in all mining related areas. He served as General Director of the Mexican Geological Survey, where he designed and implemented the National Mapping Program, and initiated the largest geology and mining databank currently in use by mining companies doing business in Mexico. In 2001, he was invited by the Governor of Coahuila State to become Director of Energy and Mines to design sustainable development policies and strategies to maximize energy and mineral resources value. In 2006, Dr. Chavez was named President of the Mexican Institute for Environmental Management, a private consulting firm. He is a former President of the Mexican Mining Association, and currently he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Mines. A Geological Engineer from the University of San Luis Potosi, he also holds a MS degree in Mineral Economics from Penn State University, a PhD degree in Energy and Mineral Economics from the University of Arizona, and a Business Administration degree from the PanAmerican Business Institute in Monterrey, Mexico. since 2015.
